Continuing with our theme of things that trick your eye is this log cabin-like structure. Although it appears to be a large, very well-stacked wood pile, it is in fact a moveable study/workspace designed by Piet Hein Eek for a musician. Not only does it offer a new take on a traditional log cabin, it also provides interesting camouflage for what could be a generic outbuilding.

One thing we’ve always loved is making something look like something else entirely. Not only has Elisa Strozyk made wood look like fabric, she’s actually made wood into fabric. Elisa took discarded wood veneer, cut it into pieces and created a new textile with the look of wood, but the movement and fluidity of fabric. The result is decidedly modern and we love the juxtaposition in the bench shown above.
